I started taking African Dance with Lark as the instructor a couple of years ago in the Healthy Harrisburg program. There is no way to express in only a few sentences how joyful, informative, and invigorating the classes are. She teaches people with different ages, backgrounds, and body types how to move with the grace and power of our ancestors while still getting a great workout to build stamina flexibility and muscle. The drummers are awesome too! Ten out of 10!

Joining Lark Daniel’s Dennimmen African Dance Classes has been a joy for me—and I’m in my 70s. Lark is a great teacher, who shares with us both African culture and knowledge with the dance. We warm up, get a breakdown of the dance steps, really feel the music especially by such talented drummers, share a connection with the other dancers in our classes, and get a good workout at the same time. I benefit and feel most welcome and encouraged by all of her work. Yes, 10/10.

I look forward to both classes each week, and I encourage others to try this form of dancing. It adds so much to one’s life., You won’t be disappointed.

Lark is an amazing teacher and an inspiring presence. Her classes are a blast and she breaks down the moves so even a beginner like myself can easily pick them up. She creates a very welcoming space to unwind and connect through movement, music and a sense of community. She spends time making sure we’re properly warmed up before delving into the moves. I’ve been recommending her classes to everyone! Lark is truly a gift to the community!!
